It's Science Fair Time!
Many parents dread this time of year, but it shouldn't be this way :( The purpose of the Science Fair is for students to practice the Scientific Method and have fun conducting an experiment!
In 4th grade, a science fair project is required and will count as a major part of the science grade upon completion. Entering projects in the fair is encouraged. Each student will be responsible for doing a science fair project at home.
Here is the timeline of due dates that was sent home with your student:

*All items must be turned in on or before due dates to receive full credit.
Step 1
Daily Log-a dated, day by day diary of your work as well as a record of your data beginning from the very first day of your project. It will include all the information from the beginning to the end. It should be kept in a separate folder or notebook and include pictures, graphs, and charts. It will be displayed with the final project.
Step 2 Due Dates
1. Problem Statement 10-2-15
2. Hypothesis 10-12-15
3. Materials List 10-12-15
4. Procedures List 10-12-15
Step 3
5. Data, Graphs, Tables, and/or Daily Log 11-16-15*
6. Summary (see attached instructions) 11-16-15*
7. Results (explain most important observations you made) 11-16-15*
8. Conclusion (explain whether your hypothesis was right/wrong ) 11-16-15*
*For numbers 5-9, if you want my feedback, input, or suggestions, turn it in on the 11-16-15 date.
Otherwise, these items can be turned in on the display board on 11-20-15 and I will grade it from there.

9. Total Project: 11-20-15
Display board (see attached instructions and guidelines) with Signed Science Fair Application on back and Daily Log (remember not to put your name anywhere on the board or daily log)
